Overview

DiversiCorp Inc. was originally established by Jim Mayer as an outgrowth of Diversified Consulting Associates (1985); a small business collateral management, turnaround coaching and consulting firm located in Dallas, Texas. The name was revived in late 2009 as DiversiCorp LLC.

In 1996 the DiversiCorp name was retired and continued to operate as Collateral Risk Management, Inc. by former DiversiCorp managers. In 1998 Credit Support International LLC was established in Dallas by Mayer to provide advisory services to smaller companies, banks and finance firms.

In January 2007 he reincorporated in Illinois as SmallCap Advisory Services LLC, providing similar services but to small public companies. In 2009 Mayer changed the name to DiversiCorp LLC as it added collateral management services to its existing coaching, advisory and consulting activities as the name was well known in the 80′s and 90′s. Most services of DiversiCorp LLC are still geared to growing, stagnant or troubled small companies that run the gamut from manufacturers to retailers; service companies to distributors; sub-contractors to light manufacturers.

Today, with experiences gained by Jim Mayer and associates over more than a quarter century, DiversiCorp’s focus is self-help coaching programs geared to owners, principals, partners and family heads of small companies. The collateral management business has been dropped. The targeted revenue size of these companies is less than $15 Million in revenues with most expected to be about $3-10 Million.

A six step coaching program was developed in March 2010 by Mayer that combined knowledge gained since the original founding of DiversiCorp, Inc.  It is offered to underserved owners, principals, partners or family leaders experiencing the isolation and attendant stress of running a business with little accountability or any sounding board when there are more questions than answers.  Our approach focuses not only on the quantifiable matters but also issues of self accountability, performance and personal satisfaction.

This self empowering form of coaching is facilitative (Facilitative Coaching) since it focuses on helping address specific challenges that require a deeper understanding of the causes and effect that require specific tools, resources and processes to solve.  Facilitative (turnaround) Coaching is a unique sub-specialty of business coaching and a less costly, self-help alternative than most types of management and turnaround consulting.

Directive Consulting options are also offered for those owners, principals, partners or family leaders who believe they need direct leadership in dealing with the host of business challenges that may include: creditor relations, lending/financing issues, operational inefficiency, human resources matters, marketing/sales deficiencies, public relations failures, legal issues, administrative disorder, IT/IS remediation, financial mismanagement or accounting remediation. Unlike coaching, a consultant assignment is crafted in a formal engagement agreement with variable but higher costs as the consultant is directly charged with spearheading the solving of problems, threats, or risks giving rise to enterprise viability.
